About Us

Nino Cioffi comes from a third generation of ice cream makers. It was his grandfather Augusto Davide who opened one of the first ice cream parlours in Sorrento called DAVIDE IL GELATO. Nino's parents Rosa and Vincenzo continued the tradition by opening their own place called BOUGAINVILLEA on the main strip in 1970. Since then, BOUGAINVILLEA, under the management of Nino, his brother and sister was transformed into a multifunctional bar, ice cream parlour, snack and full sit down restaurant accomodating more than 300 guests.

After the latest renovation of Bougainvillea in June 2007 Nino was ready to set his eyes upon new challenge, hence moving to Toronto and opening SORRENTO RISTORANTE.
