A few words about our restaurantMy name is Nino Cioffi, I am a third generation Gelato maker and Restaurateur, from Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast.
My grandfather Augusto Davide, opened one of the very first gelato parlours in Sorrento called “DAVIDE IL GELATO” in the early ’50. In the ’80’s, my parents Rosa and Vincenzo Cioffi continued the tradition by opening their own place called “BOUGAINVILLEA” . Under my management, together with my brother Gianluca and my sister Teresa, this family tradition was transformed into a sit down restaurant accommodating more than 300 guests. In June 2008, I set my sights on a new challenge : Canada, with a mission of opening a restaurant, using the finest ingredients from Amalfi Coast.SORRENTO RISTORANTE opened in Toronto in 2009, and that same year was named one of “Toronto’s Best”, by toronto.com. In 2014 we were awarded with “Ospitalita’ Italiana” from the Italian Chamber of Commerce, which selects restaurants around the world that maintain the authentic italian cuisine, products and hospitality.
